The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture plans to implement a unified research agenda to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of food safety programs.
The research agenda is one of several key initiatives that the USDA plans to take in enhancing food safety and improving food inspection systems, according to Agriculture Secretary Ann M. Veneman. The agenda will complement specific meat, poultry, and egg needs that the Food Safety and Inspection Service is encouraging non-government entities to address.
