MASAKA Chief Magistrate Cissy Mudhasi has sued the Red Pepper and its editor for defamation, seeking damages.

Mudhasi said in its Volume 3 Number 19 for the week ending October 24-27, 2003, the tabloid published an injurious article about her under the headline "Mudhasi seeks divorce over canes".

The tabloid, in its story on Page 3, said, "Mudhasi is divorcing her husband (Robert) Mudhasi for beating her up like a baby."
