Sony Electronics introduced its first LCD monitors optimized for full-motion video in broadcast and production environments. The new Luma series comprises five models: two multi-format systems and three rack-mountable units.

The 17-inch LMD-170WS and 23-inch LMD-230WS multi-format, wide-screen displays boast a two-piece design. The LCD panel and tally light are housed in the display cabinet, whereas the separate engine includes video processing, input connections, controls, and the power supply.
