Budvar wins dispute with Anheuser-Busch before EU body.

CESKE BUDEJOVICE, South Bohemia, Dec 15 (CTK) - The Board of Appeal of the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market of the European Union (OHIM) has confirmed that the name of Budejovicky Budvar may be registered as a Community Trademark.

Czech brewery Budejovicky Budvar, which puts out beer of this name, said the decision boosted its position in Western and Central Europe.

Budvar's global rival, US brewery Anheuser-Busch (AB), wanted to prevent the registration of Budejovicky Budvar all over the EU but the Board of Appeal rejected its proposal.
