China Airlines celebrates its 44th anniversary.

China Airlines, Taiwan's largest and longest-serving airlines, celebrated its 44th anniversary yesterday in its maintenance hangar at the CKS International Airport.

According to company executives, the year 2003 was not a particularly good one for the Asian airline industry, with the war in Iraq and SARS both hampering operations, but China Airlines reacted quickly and was the first regional airline to rebound from deficit to profit.
