Tara Brady, who lost her basketball scholarship at Sacred Heart University PA when she became pregnant in 2001, has settled a lawsuit with the school.
Suing for gender bias prohibited by Title IX of the 1972 Educational Amendments, Brady is now a senior on the basketball team at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
Although no financial details were released, the settlement requires Sacred Heart to clarify its existing policies forbidding sex discrimination, in both the student-athlete handbook and the manual of athletic policies.
