WOMEN in the West are being asked to take extra precautions over Christmas as police forces launch major campaigns to combat drink spiking and drug-assisted rape.
As the festive season begins in earnest, posters are being put up in pubs and clubs to warn revellers of the risks they face if they leave their booze unattended.
The crackdown follows a spate of suspected drink-spiking incidents in recent months across the West from Gloucestershire to Dorset.
