PARIS (AFX) - Electricite de France, saying it intends to be a main player in the European natural gas market, has agreed to buy 10 pct of the Gate liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal project in Rotterdam from pipeline operator Gasunie and storage company Vopak, and may build a major LNG terminal of its own in Dunkirk.

It will reserve 3 bln cubic meters per year of capacity at the Gate terminal, having already reserved that amount of long-term gas pipeline capacity in the Netherlands and Belgium from Gasunie unit GTS and Suez unit Fluxys.
