Many groups and individuals have helped the tourism industry thrive in a difficult situation; and honoring them with the 11th Kalakbay (Kasama sa Lakbay Kaunlaran ng Bayan or travel partner towards nation-building) awards on Dec. 5 at the Philippine International Convention Center was a fitting yearend tribute to their cause.
Kalakbay, short for kasama sa lakbay, means traveling friend or companion. In the spirit of kalakbay, visitors are guaranteed of good treatment from the warm smiles of frontliners to the personalized service offered by word-class establishments and service providers.
