You'd think that being forced into a hefty settlement with a prominent female economics professor would teach leaders at Columbia University NY a lesson. Not.
Dr. Graciela Chichilnisky is suing Columbia again, this time for $1 million, for retaliating against her after her 1991 lawsuit charging that she was paid 30% less than the men in her department.
She says that the school reneged on its promises to fund her research, give her a large suite of offices and endow a chair for her. Instead it froze her accounts, evicted her from her office and destroyed her research in the process.
