I hear this ridiculous argument weekly: Larry Fitzgerald is the best player in the country but he won't win the Heisman Trophy. Here's some news, folks: The best player will win the Heisman. That player is Jason White.

I'll put White's numbers up against anyone's--not only any player this year, but any player all the way back to Andre Ware's product-of-the-system numbers from his 1989 Heisman season.

And speaking of that, here are two words for this year's product-of-the-system sheep: Nate Hybl. He was Oklahoma's quarterback the last two years, when White was rehabbing from ACL injuries to each knee. Hybl is the reason OU never reached its potential.

This season, the Sooners have, and White's 40 touchdowns and a measly six interceptions are why. He has performed so well, the OU offense is overshadowing its signature defense. Give White the Heisman.--Matt Hayes
