LOOKING TO IMPROVE YOUR TECHNIQUE, GET A LITTLE EXTRA KICK AND GLIDE or get a jump on getting in shape for the season? Or maybe you are thinking about entering a race. A specialized Nordic training camp may be just the ticket. What better way to realize these goals while hanging out with like-minded cross country skiers under the guidance of highly skilled teachers and coaches than to participate in a ski camp or clinic. You don't have to be a hard-bodied, go-fast elite skier to increase your enjoyment of the sport by attending a camp. The camaraderie, great food, new trails to ski and, of course, newfound technique improvements and conditioning are all part of the package.

While there are dozens of smaller camps offered around the country during the fall and early winter, a number of major camp programs stand out as great opportunities that we at Cross Country Skier feel our readers should know more about.

West Yellowstone, Montana, starts its winter season with the Fall Training Camp. For many, the Fall Camp has become a yearly tradition, a place to make the transition from dry land to snow and have Thanksgiving with family and friends.
