Many drug addicts who smoke are interested in quitting, and doing so does not endanger their sobriety, according to an article in the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment.
Researchers Barbara K. Campbell, Ph.D., and associates from CODA Programs in Substance Abuse and Mental Health in Portland, Ore., say that there is no support for the "myth" that "recovering substance abusers are at great risk of relapsing to more serious' substances should they succeed at cigarette smoking cessation."
