FRANKFURT (AFX) - MAN AG works council head Lothar Pohlmann told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung he is concerned Volkswagen AG will seek to break up MAN after taking a 15.06 pct stake in the company.
"The workers will not accept that," Pohlmann said in an interview.
Industry sources told the newspaper that Scania's supervisory board is scheduled to meet today to discuss the formation of a new truck company which would include MAN's long-haul lorry assets.
VW chief executive Bernd Pischetsrieder serves as the head of Scania's supervisory board.
