1 Is Indiana's Patrick Ewing Jr. as good as we're hearing? When Ewing was signed last spring, he was supposed to be a consolation prize for a fruitless Hoosiers recruiting haul in the fall of 2002. But the 6-8, 215-pound Ewing has been terrific in practice, and he provided a strong defensive presence in two exhibitions. On Saturday, the Hoosiers play Xavier in Indianapolis. The Musketeers' Will Caudle and Anthony Myles aren't overpowering, but they'll provide an indication of whether Ewing will be a factor in the Big Ten.
