Smith has developed into much more of a complete receiver this season. He always has been an enormous threat after the catch and on vertical routes, but now he also is a go-to-receiver in the intermediate passing game. That's because his route running and concentration are much improved.
In an attempt to get their most explosive weapon more opportunities, the Panthers also have been using Smith on a lot of reverses and screens in recent weeks.
What makes this matchup intriguing is that the Eagles like to use their cornerbacks in press coverage. The goal is to smoker receivers at the line and alter their routes in order to give the pass rush time to get to the quarterback.
