* Congratulations to Eric Gagne for winning the N.L. Cy Young Award. Converting 55 saves is impressive. Too bad the only time anyone actually saw him pitch was when he blew the All-Star Game.

* If Dave Kindred (TSN, November 17) thinks high school quarterback Nate Haasis was unaware of the "deal" that allowed him to set the conference passing record, I have some swamp land to sell Kindred in Florida. I might be able to sell him a bridge out in Frisco, too.

* I agree with Matt Hayes' assessment about the BCS (TSN, November 24). I think the whole Division I classification needs to be reexamined. Let the BCS leagues be considered Division I. They can have the four bowls for the big bucks. ...
