ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Comments by Clark Kerr, a seminal planner for American higher education who died on December 1, 2003, on the challenges faced by higher education in the 21st century, can be viewed at no charge to the public at http://www.scup.org/about/awards/2001/kerr.html.

The Society for College and University Planning (SCUP), an international society of nearly 5,000 higher education professionals, awarded Kerr its Founders (Casey) Award in 2001. Kerr was unable to attend the award ceremony, which took place in Boston, because of an injury.
