Eddie Stobart - the shy man behind the UK haulage empire - is apparently selling his [pounds sterling]2.2 million country pile and giving up his Ferrari as the company focuses its efforts south of Carlisle. According to a recent article published in the Sunday Times, Stobart is trying to sell his grand house in Cumbria and move into a smaller house further south down the M6, following the decision to move the company's head office to the edge of Merseyside. Stobart believes that the nature of the business has changed and that it needs to cater to the needs of many of its customers who are based in the south.
