The tourism industry has received strong interest from foreign investors who are proposing multi-million dollar projects in some of the country's most popular tourist destinations.

Proposals for four hotel and entertainment projects, worth more than $1.4 billion, have been submitted to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) for approval.

Among them are the Winvest Investment group from the US, asking for permission to develop a $300-million resort in central highlands Da Lat city, home to another US-backed project, Da Lat Resort Incorporation, which operates Sofitel and Novotel hotels.
