Walt Disney Co.'s empire was in turmoil after Roy Disney, vice chairman and nephew of the entertainment giant's founder, quit in protest at chief executive Michael Eisner's leadership.
Roy Disney, whose father helped found the company with Walt Disney, had been head of the Walt Disney Features Animation unit, delivered a scathing critique of Eisner's leadership in a letter released ahead of a board meeting this week.
The letter dated Sunday and released Monday was addressed to Eisner as well as the Disney board of directors.
