MINNETONKA, Minn.-- Since his appointment as president and chief operating officer of Katz Group North America, Andy Giancamilli has assumed direct control of Snyder's Drug Stores and says his first order of business is to bring the U.S. drug store operation out of bankruptcy as quickly as possible.

In an exclusive interview Friday, Giancamilli indicated that he is working to bring Snyder's out of bankruptcy as quickly as possible after completing the liquidation of its Drug Emporium discount store division and concluding negotiations with the chain's lenders and creditors.
