TAIPEI, Dec 1 Asia Pulse - The Council of Agriculture (COA) launched a series of Taiwan fruit tasting activities in Malaysia, Canada and the United States on Saturday to promote exports of locally grown fruits.
The tastings are being held at Star Hill Square in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur Nov. 29-30 and at San Galtill Superstore and Stater Brother Supermarket in Los Angeles Dec. 13-14.
Similar activities will also be held at major supermarkets in San Francisco and Vancouver Dec. 13-14, COA officials said, adding that ethnic Chinese residents in those cities will be the primary targets of the promotion.
The fruit to be tasted will include various citrus varieties, star fruit, pineapple, guava, bell fruit, papaya and date preserves.
Some processed agricultural products catering to the tastes of consumers in those markets, including bamboo shoots, will also be presented for free tasting.
