JAKATA, Dec 1 Asia Pulse - Sea sand exporters have urged the Indonesian government to issue a decision on the export of the commodity soon, as the delay has adversely affected their business.
"We already have a sea sand export licence issued by the government and are ready to abide by the regulations," Eddy SUMMARY. Poluan, president commissioner of PT Selo Artha Anugrah, said.
Eddy believed the government had already studied matters relating to sea sand exports and had set up a Sea Sand Business Controlling and Supervising Team (TP4L) chaired by Minister of Marine and Fishery Affairs Rokhmin Dahuri.
But, he said, the government has yet to allow the resumption of sea sand exports.
According to him, the businessmen are ready to pay export duty, regional duty and community development levies in advance.
"Most of the exporters are newcomers and they should be given the opportunity to grow and develop the country's economy. Now they can do nothing with the licenses," Eddy added.
Eddy expressed his support to a review of the existing trade and production arrangements, and the government's control of sea sand exports to prevent the old practices from recurring.
