SEOUL, Dec 1 Asia Pulse - LG Electronics Inc. (KSE:66570) and the Hyundai Motor Group have agreed on a technical association in the car multimedia field, industry sources said Monday.
They said the two recently signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in multimedia technologies, mainly telematics.
As a result of the agreement, the country's second-largest electronics company will provide the world's eighth-biggest automaker with telematics terminals and related technologies. On Monday, Hyundai launched a telematics service called MOZEN.
Telematics is a combination of telecommunications, computing and data communications between systems and devices. It also refers to systems used in automobiles that combine wireless communications with GPS (global positioning system) tracking.
