KOREAN GOLD IMPORTS SURGE.
SEOUL, Dec 1 Asia Pulse - South Korea's gold imports registered US$1.82 billion based on Friday's won-dollar exchange rate during the first 10 months of this year, the Bank of Korea said.
The imports for the 10 months exceeded the $1.63 billion and 1.74 billion worth imported for the whole year in 2001 and 2002, respectively, the central bank said.
In particular, the $360 million worth of gold imports in October was a 78.9 per cent increase from a year ago and a 23.1 per cent rise from the month ...
