SEOUL, Dec 1 Asia Pulse - Regular airline service between Gimpo International Airport in Seoul and Haneda International Airport in Tokyo opened Sunday as part of the outcome of agreements from a June 7 Korea-Japan summit in Tokyo.
The Korea Airports Corp. (KAC) held a ceremony to celebrate the launch of the air route at Gimpo Airport right after the first airplane to Haneda took off at 9:50 a.m.
This is the first regular international air route for Gimpo Airport, the nation's former gateway airport, since Incheon International Airport started operations in March 2001 with hopes of becoming the hub airport of East Asia.
