TALK 'N Text pummeled Sta. Lucia Realty, 123-106, last night to place third in the Samsung-PBA Reinforced Conference and end its season on a respectable note at the Araneta Coliseum.
Import Damien Cantrell, Asi Taulava and Jimmy Alapag set aside their bitter experience in the semifinals against Coca-Cola and focused on smothering the Realtors to secure their first-ever No. 3 finish.
Unlike in their forgettable semifinal series against the Tigers, Cantrell and Taulava displayed their old offensive flair while Alapag, Harvey Carey and Mark Telan played their supporting roles to the hilt.
Cantrell erupted for 35 points and Taulava had 25 while Alapag, Carey and Telan combined for 38 as the Phone Pals overshadowed Kenneth Duremdes and Dennis Espino on the offensive end.
Espino banged in 30 points and Duremdes added 26 for the Realtors, who finished their season with four straight setbacks.
