RP-CEBUANA Lhuillier got what it wanted. A quality game from a seasoned international campaigner.
The Filipinos, brushing up for their defense of the Southeast Asian Games men's cage crown, were beaten by the Olympic-bound Angolans, 90-78, in an exhibition game on Saturday.
Rather than worry, however, the result brought satisfaction to the national coaching staff headed by Aric del Rosario.
They felt that the Nationals learned valuable lessons from the Angolans, the seven-time African champions, which would be of use when they compete in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from Dec. 6-12.
"The Angolans were Olympic veterans and have been together for a long time. They were fast, physical and methodical," said Del Rosario. "Our boys really got a taste of international play."
