Do students tune into politics or are they more likely to concern themselves with watching Big Brother than wondering whether Big Brother is watching them? S RAH H ARTE puts six young people to the test.

'Enda who?" That's the reaction from six students as they look at a picture of Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny. "Never seen his face in my life before" and "Is he the guy who went out with the newscaster?" are some of the other reactions.

Although Mr Kenny was the only party leader to manage the dubious honour of remaininganonymous to all six of the students to whom we spoke, he was by no means the onlypolitician that some of the students failed to recognise.

We asked the students to first identify Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, then Mr Kenny, MaryHarney, Pat Rabbitte and Gerry Adams. We then asked them to try and recognise showbiz personalities Ronan Keating, Miriam O'Callaghan, Eamon Dunphy, Colin Farrelland Pat Kenny.

Three of the six students failed to recognise Labour's Mr Rabbitte, while one failed torecognise Tanaiste Mary Harney, with another failing …
