The claim: Dawn Power Dissolver, the ad says, will let you "forget scrubbing, forget soaking" even with "the toughest burnt-on grease." You spray it on dirty pans, wait (up to 30 minutes), wipe, rinse, and voila-no grunge. It costs $2.79.
The check: We coated aluminum pans with a mix of canola oil and beef consomme, baked the pans at 350[degrees] F for three hours and let that nasty varnish age at room temperature for six days. Then we applied Power Dissolver to sections of dirty pans, waited 30 minutes, and noted how hard they were to clean with a plastic-mesh scrub pad.
