Harvard Divinity School announces a search to fill a position in New Testament and Early Christian Studies with a concentration in the first and early-second centuries at the assistant or associate professor rank (non-tenured).
Candidates should be familiar with current theories of religion and theological approaches and demonstrate methodological sophistication regarding communities of interpretation, both ancient and contemporary. Area of specialization is open and could involve, for example, Gospel or Pauline studies, early Christian theology, sociological approaches, feminist hermeneuties, the interaction of Judaism and Christianity, or the context of Christianity in the Roman Empire. Candidates should be familiar with forms of analysis that address race, gender, and social location.
