Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) is one of seven universities in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System and provides a diverse curriculum of liberal arts and selected professional programs and is committed to fostering a global perspective. Dean of the College of Business, Education, and Professional Studies
The College of Business, Education, and Professional Studies, with 50 faculty, houses an active component of the University's off-campus programs and is engaged in numerous partnerships with industry and education. It includes the departments of Business and Public Affairs, Education, Educator Development and Leadership. Mathematics and Computer Science. Wellness and Human Performance, and the Center for Rural and Regional Studies. Graduate programs are offered in Business. Education, Special Education, and Educator Development and Leadership. The Dean is responsible for a broad range of academic and leadership activities including overall administration of the departments and programs in the College and of Interim and Summer Sessions.

The College of Arts, Letters & Sciences, with 80 faculty, includes the departments Art, Music, Speech Communication, and Theatre; English; Humanities. Philosophy, and Foreign Languages, Science; and Social Science. The Dean is responsible for a broad range of academic and leadership activities including overall administration of the departments and programs in the College, and supervision of the Learning Resources and Advising Centers.
