Dear Dr. SerVaas:

This letter is in response to the woman in Mississippi who has been experiencing a salty taste from her lips and fingers. I had a similar problem ten years ago.

After complaining for some weeks that everything tasted salty, I discovered that the lymph nodes in my neck were swollen. I also developed a white lesion near one of my tonsils, which tested negative for strep.
