Engr. Funso Kupolokun formally took over affairs of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as Group Managing Director (GMD) yesterday, saying that he remains friends with his predecessor, Mr. Jackson Gaius-Obaseki. He also pledged to take the organization to a level where it would rank among the leading national oil corporations in the world.

Mr. Gaius-Obaseki handed over to Engr. Kupolokun at a brief closed-door meeting attended only by NNPC board members and the Group Executive Directors (GEDs). Engr. Kupolokun, according to sources, admitted that though the relationship between him …
