Richard Baker, the new chief executive of Boots, on Thursday described the company as introspective, going on to say that the strategy in the past had been confused and that some of its stores and products were uncompetitive.
Overseeing his first set of financial results since his appointment, Mr Baker said: "I find the company introspective in the sense that it is not focused on the customer."
Mr Baker went on to say that the group's strategy of exiting and re-entering sectors and products had confused customers in the past.
