THE Irish Marine Accident Investigation Board has recommended that shipping companies should ensure there is effective communication in English aboard ship.

The recommendation is contained in its report into the death of a 55-year-old Spanish sailor aboard the ro'ro Merchant Bravery, who was fatally injured as the vessel arrived in Dublin from Heysham on January 25, 2003.
