Sterling Marlin, 47: "I think I can still win. There's no doubt in my mind. I guess most people think you've got to be 22 to drive a Cup car now. I think that's a crock."

Chances of winning again: Zero. The last time someone 47 or older won a Cup race: Rusty Wallace (55 career wins), who was 47 at Martinsville on April 18, 2004. Before that: Bill Elliott (44 career wins) was 48 when he won at Rockingham on November 9, 2003. Marlin (10 career wins) is not in the same company.

Terry Labonte, 48, who is running a 10-race schedule this season, including next week's race at Bristol: "It's a little funny not knowing exactly what I'm going to be doing every Sunday, but I really enjoy it. I'm really busy with other things--things I haven't been able to do over the years, so I'm not missing (racing)."
