Presently: After at least two years during which Kendall "was traded to every team in the league, some of them twice," he finally was moved. The A's, with limited help from the Pirates, took on the $34 million he's owed over the next three years because of his experience working with young pitchers and his patient approach at the plate
A.L. history: Kendall has significantly lower numbers in 98 interleague games. He's a .306 career hitter overall but only .264 in interleague play. His on-base percentage against the A.L. is .357, 30 points lower than his overall number. But in 14 games against his new division opponents, Kendall is 19-for-54 (.352) and has a .426 on-base percentage.
