SARASOTA COUNTY -- Catherine Levann started working as a waitress in college, but even after she landed a job teaching at Gulf Gate Elementary, Levann didn't hang up her apron.
Now a veteran elementary school teacher and mother, Levann still waits tables to pay off debts, including more than $10,000 in college loans.
She's one of several dozen local teachers -- all of whom grew up in Sarasota County -- who will get part of their loans paid off under a new program sponsored by the Community Foundation.
