Women don't plan to end up poor. But because they tend to earn less, opt out of paid employment for family duties and outlive their partners, too many women simply fail to plan for their retirement and are at great risk to wind up alone, and without adequate resources to fund the lifestyles of their dreams.

It's never too early or too late to give serious thought to your finances. That was the message from several speakers at the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) conference held in New York in October 2004.
