Some consumers are turning to hybrid vehicles as an alternative method of transportation in order to cope with high gas prices. Some students said that while they are interested in purchasing a hybrid car, the fuel efficient vehicles aren't in their price range.
Hybrid vehicles run on both a standard combustion engine and an electric battery, which allows them to get better mileage. They are also better for the environment because they reduce ozone-depleting emissions.
Hybrid cars have been produced since the late 1990s and have become increasingly popular in recent years.
