Author: y Hong Kong shares rose slightly yesterday in light trading ahead of an expected interest rate hike, the government's budget announcement and earnings reports. The blue-chip Hang Seng Index climbed 15.92 points, or 0.11 per cent, to 13,906.85. On Friday, the index gained 34.91 points, or 0.25 per cent. Turnover dropped to 14.86 billion Hong Kong dollars (US$1.91 billion) from Friday's HK$15.33 billion (US$1.97 billion). Investors waited for cues from tomorrow's budget speech, the US Federal Reserve's meeting next week and upcoming corporate earnings reports. The US central bank is expected to raise …
