SAN DIEGO -- Artes Medical, Inc., a privately held specialty pharmaceutical and medical device company, today reported that the U.S. Attorney's office found that Artecoll was not administered in the Beverly Hills/Serrano case, which was widely reported in December 2004, and it confirmed that a form of liquid silicone was used instead, which may have resulted in the reported adverse treatment effects.
