(From Airline Industry Information)
The two pilots of the Legacy executive jet that collided midair with GOL Flight 1907 on 29 September have been ordered to stay in Brazil pending an investigation of the crash.
According to the Brazilian based O Globo newspaper, the aircraft had disobeyed an order to descend to a lower altitude just before the collision that killed 155 people on board the larger aircraft occurred. O Globo also said that the Legacy jet was flying at 37,000 feet to Brasilia, but ignored an order to descend to 36,000 feet to continue its flight to Manaus, while Flight 1907 was flying at 37,000 feet from Manaus to Brasilia.
