THE quantity, direction and effectiveness of New Zealand's foreign aid efforts are being questioned by members of Parliament's foreign affairs and defence committee.
Chairman Peter Dunne said yesterday that he wondered whether aid programmes were merely being conducted to advance foreign policy.
"Are we running an overseas aid policy because it is a good and noble thing to do, or are we running it because it advances our foreign policy?"
