Senate bickers while minimum wage remains painfully low Earlier this week, the U.S. Senate voted down both the Republican and Democratic plans to raise the minimum wage -the first such increase in the past eight years -- with typical political motives. The Republican Party had authored a plan to raise the minimum wage by $1.10 over 18 months, and Democrats were advocating an increase of $2.10 over 26 months. The Senate let down working Americans, preferring to instead quibble among themselves and put partisan politics ahead of the fate of the citizens the senators represent.
It is a colossal injustice…
