Moscow, 10 March: Russia is interested in "Lebanon's historical success as a multi-denominational and democratic country of the Middle East manifesting itself again after civil war", Chairman of the Federation Council's international affairs committee Mikhail Margelov said today after talks with Lebanon's opposition leader Walid Jumblatt.

He said that "Russia understands what it is like to take into account the interests of all the ethnic groups and denominations of a country". "Lebanon was and remains a unique state where a system of restraint used to exist. …
