Loppet to guarantee its event with artificial snow.(Minnesota)

Recognizing that Minnesota winters are sometimes fickle, organizers of the City of Lakes Loppet have decided to make snow in order to guarantee the event. The World Snowmobile Association (WSA) will bring their mobile pump, generator and snow guns to the Lake Calhoun area in order to make the snow. "This is a very small job for us," says Joe Duncan, of WSA. "Our typical job calls for eight to ten times that amount of snow. If everything goes well, and it stays cold, we should have the job done in less than two days."
