- The Industrial Revitalization Corp. of Japan (IRCJ) is poised to tap the alliance of Marubeni Corp. (TSE: 8002) and Advantage Partners Inc. to sponsor the restructuring of ailing retailer Daiei Inc. (TSE:8263).
- Japan's monetary base in February grew 1.2 per cent on-year, much slower than the 3.9 per cent growth marked in the previous month, reflecting the continuation of the Bank of Japan's steady monetary policy for over a year, the central bank data showed Wednesday.
